Andrew Blaver has over 25 years of experience in the construction, communications and electricity industries in Australia, Southeast Asia and North America, including at an Executive level. Andrew has been at the forefront of the customer and technology driven change in the energy sector and in 2019, he was awarded Energy Professional of the Year for outstanding leadership, enthusiasm and innovation in the WA energy sector.
As Head of Distribution Energy Transition at Western Power, Andrew continues to lead efforts across the energy sector, focusing on integrating customer-owned energy resources into the distribution network and enabling their participation in emerging markets and services. Building on his role as Program Director for Project Symphony – WA’s most significant DER orchestration pilot – Andrew now plays a key role on the Steering Committee for Project Jupiter, which is translating those learnings into real-world implementation as we work towards making virtual power plants a reality in WA’s main electricity system by 2028.
